Launched in 2020, Sue Yannaccone-led initiative to support leadership and professional development for women in real estate has filled a critical void in the industry
MADISON, N.J., March 3, 2025—What Moves Her®, an advocacy campaign dedicated to empowering women in the real estate industry by enhancing their leadership skills and supporting their professional development, this year proudly celebrates its fifth anniversary.
Led by founder Sue Yannaccone, President and Chief Executive Officer of Anywhere Brands and Anywhere Advisors, What Moves Her® has tirelessly worked to inspire and support women across real estate. Over its five-year existence, it has grown to include more than 7,000 members and established 10 active local communities nationwide, with others expected to join in the coming months, including international expansion.
“As we reflect on five years since our founding, it’s an apt time to consider all that What Moves Her® has accomplished, and the vital role we have filled as a fearless advocate for women as they continue to pursue their goals and push for greater equity and representation across all corners of real estate,” said Yannaccone. “Our real progress, however, can be measured through the thousands of women we have personally welcomed and encouraged along their paths to personal and professional growth. While much work lies ahead of us as an organization, it is their collective voices that will carry women into their next chapter as increasingly visible and formidable leaders of our industry.”
Originally launched in partnership with Coldwell Banker in 2020, What Moves Her® has since expanded its reach to the entire Anywhere family of brands and throughout real estate.
In addition to Yannaccone’s guidance and proactive advocacy, Lindsay Listanski, What Moves Her® Chair and National Vice President of Marketing for Coldwell Banker Realty, has spearheaded the launch of an expanding array of programs open to women at every level of the business, including:
- Two annual awards – “EmpowerHER”, which celebrates women in the real estate industry who demonstrate exceptional leadership and impactful contributions within their communities; and “Moved By Her Power℠, which recognizes female leaders making a significant impact in their communities and demonstrating exceptional leadership abilities.
- The “What Moves Her” podcast, which currently has two seasons with a total of 31 episodes featuring prominent leaders from all corners of the real estate industry. The podcast also includes a corresponding blog for What Moves Her® website visitors
- The continued expansion of local What Moves Her® communities across the vast network of Anywhere-affiliated brands
In 2024, the initiative was recognized by Inman as part of its annual “Innovators” awards, earning honors in the “Most Innovative Organization” category.
“We’re extremely proud of the impact we’ve made to date, thanks not only to our growing list of programming and outreach, but the ways in which our voice and our mission continues to resonate with professionals across our industry,” said Listanski. “We look forward to continuing to welcome more women to our ranks in 2025 and beyond, as we grow and expand the ways we support them in their individual roads to success.”
